Locally:
Southeast Michigan is our mission field. Whether it's Sunday morning services, our youth nights on Wednesday, or our annual Outreach Events, we are called to make fully devoted followers of Christ, starting at home.
Also, each month we collect non-perishable food items in our pantry and team up with the Carleton Goodfellows to help those in our community.
Nationally:
Big Stone Gap, Virginia
God has recently called us to minister to the Appalachian poor in Southwestern Virginia. We anticipate such great things because the Lord has led us down there to reach those who need Christ.
Globally:
Nicaragua
We here at NorthBrook have heard the call to reach to all nations. In a little town in the country of Nicaragua, the Lord has called us to spread the love of Christ to a very poor area in a tangible way. In the summer of 2004 we built (thanks to all the sponsors, and the L
ord) a church. June 2005 we added on class rooms that are used as a feeding center and a school for kids and adults. In June of 2006 we built a house for our Pastor and his family. In the summer of 2007 we added on a playground to the little community. The kids now have a safe place to play that allows the kids to be kids.
We sponsor the church and it's pastor, Pastor Alberto Pavon and his family. They are doing a great work in their area and we are excited to be a part.
Our mission is not to just help the Nicaraguan people by giving them food, or supplies, but our main reason for going is to show them the love of Christ. The gift of Jesus in their lives is much greater than anything money can buy.
